Setting up a Notion Scan Library

If you use Notion for work already, this might be a good option for your scan library to keep things in the one place with a tool you’re already familiar with. You can set up a database page with all your categories, tags and free text fields to input your scan data as you go.
  • The native Notion Web Clipper ❌
The native Notion webclipper allows you to clip bookmarks but only pulls the page content and URL, so if you're tagging scan hits you'll need to go back and fill them in later which is a pain.
  • Try the new Save to Notion web clipper ✅
The new 3rd party webclip is free and offers loads more functionality. See below for more detail.
🔥UPDATE - NEW SAVE TO NOTION WEBCLIP🔥

The new Save to Notion webclip is a total gamechanger.

Using the old Notion webclipper to collect future scan hits or research snips always felt second rate compared to Airtable (you can see the previous webclip version below). The Save to Notion webclip is super easy and definitely worth a try.

Save to Notion webclip

Save webpages to read in Notion or simply bookmark them. Capture logos, screenshots and fill in database properties and tags straight from the extension. You can download the Save to Notion webclip 👉here
Here's the Kicker
If you click the settings toggle ⚙️ you'll find a special feature for people who use Save to Notion a lot, called "Upload all images to Notion." If you turn this on, it will save the actual pictures from the articles directly into Notion. This way, you won't lose your pictures if the website changes their links, and you'll always have them in your saved articles.
